38th Annual STSW International Conference - San Diego, California

Three hundred social workers attended our 2023 STSW conference in San Diego the week of October 9th!   The program began with a pre-conference workshop given by Dr. Scott Winder, Addiction in Organ Transplant on Monday, October 9th.   Our key note presentation, Four Decades of Transplant Social Work by Kay Kendall, was the opening presentation on the first full day of the conference, October 10th.  The evening of the 10th we gathered for the Welcome Reception, hosted by our Distinguished Sponsor, COTA.   The two and a half day program offered a number of general and break out sessions.  The setting was beautiful and a wonderful opportunity to connect with other social workers.  Attendees appreciated the opportunity to meet with our exhibitors and we thank them for their support of the conference.   Many thanks to our amazing conference planning committee.   We thank you for attending and we appreciate the support of our exhibitors.

37th Annual STSW International Conference - Orlando, Florida

The 37th annual STSW conference was held in Orlando, Florida the week of October 10th.   Our 2020 and 2021 conferences were held virtually and we were glad to gather in person again this year.  Over 200 participants attended the conference.    The conference began on October 10th with a pre-conference workshop, Building a Culturally Competent Transplant Program.   Our key note speaker, Dr. Chad Mao opened the conference the following day with his presentation, Building Trust:  Transplant Teams with Diversity, Inclusion and Equity.   We gathered for a Welcome Reception on the 11th, hosted by our Distinguished Exhibitor, COTA.  Eighteen CEU’s were offered.  The conference concluded on Thursday, October 13th.   We thank all those who attended and the support  of our exhibitors.   Attendees commented on the benefits of participating in person and appreciated meeting with fellow transplant social workers.   The 38th annual conference will be held in San Diego, CA the week of October 9th.

36th Annual STSW International Conference - Virtual

The 36th annual STSW conference was held virtually in October, 2021. There were over 450 registered participants. We began with a pre-conference and also poster session. We were also pleased that we were able to highlight the support of our exhibitors. The conference began with our Keynote speaker, Nathaniel Kendall-Taylor—Framing for Change: Using Communications to Advance Your Ideas. A total of 18 CEUs were offered with our pre-conference and 3 days of general and break-out sessions. The 37th STSW in-person conference is scheduled to begin the week of October 10th , 2022, in Orlando, Florida. We are looking forward to gathering together!!


35th Annual STSW International Conference – Virtual

The 35th STSW Annual conference was held on October 23rd, 24th and 25th, 2020. 15 NASW approved CEUs were offered; 5 for each day of attendance. The conference was held virtually and 422 registrants participated. We were so pleased with the response and the program. Those who registered will be able to access the Conference Website for the next 12 months, and information about the conference will remain on the STSW website. 34th Annual STSW International Conference

The 2019 conference was held in beautiful Denver Colorado at the Denver Marriott Tech Center.  About 280 people were in attendance.  The theme of this year’s conference was Diversity and Advocacy in the New Decade, and our keynote speaker, Dr. Nita Mosby Tyler, founder of The Equity Project, LLC, gave an inspiring and energizing keynote address on that topic.  Those who attended the pre-conference sessions as well as the entire two and a half days of conference sessions received 19.5 CEUs.  An excellent poster session, in combination with a lovely “Meet and Greet” reception followed the pre-conference sessions the evening before the formal conference began.  Presentations were of the highest quality and addressed all organ groups as well as pediatric and mechanical circulatory topics.  We are thankful to the Denver conference committee for their hard work, and we are most appreciative of the exhibitors for their support.   To view the 2019 Denver Colorado Conference Brochure, click here.  The 2020 conference will be held in Orlando Florida and information will be posted under the Conference tab.


33rd Annual STSW International Conference

The 2018 Oklahoma City conference was a wonderful combination of learning, relaxing, and connecting with colleagues. SIPAT and Ethics of Transplant were popular topics at the Pre-conference workshops. The keynote speaker, Dr. Dorey Segev, MD, PhD, spoke of the importance of finding a work/life balance. There were sessions for all organ groups and our pediatric and mechanical circulatory support social workers. 32nd Annual STSW International Conference

The 32nd Annual STSW International Conference was held in beautiful Scottsdale Arizona from October 10th– 13th, 2017.    This was the first year we offered a Pre-Conference with two sessions to choose from. A total of 18.50 CEU’s were provided, which included the pre-conference. 31st Annual STSW International Conference

30th Annual STSW International Conference

29th Annual STSW International Conference

28th Annual STSW International Conference

The 28th Annual Conference was held on October 9-11, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. For more information, view the 2013 Annual Conference Brochure. At the 2013 conference were poster exhibits from some of our members for the first time. The posters were featured during our welcome reception.


27th Annual STSW International Conference
